Record Prize Money on Offer at US Open
$20 Million up for Grabs in Los Angeles
All-Time High for Tournament
The USGA has announced a record prize purse of $20 million for this week's US Open at The Los Angeles Country Club, a significant increase from previous years.
The winner of the tournament will take home a check of $3.6 million, up from the $3.15 million won by Matt Fitzpatrick in 2022. The overall player compensation for the 2023 US Open will total $65 million, another new high for the event.
Cameron Smith earned $990,867 for his fourth-place finish in last year's tournament, while Rickie Fowler, Tommy Fleetwood, and Min Woo Lee will each receive $738,934 for placing in the top 10.
The record prize purse reflects the USGA's commitment to providing a competitive and lucrative event for the world's best golfers.
