17-Year-Old Dies in Akron Shooting

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) —
A 17-year-old has died and two others were injured in a shooting outside of an Akron bar early Saturday morning.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. outside of the Limelight Club on West Market Street. According to police, a fight broke out inside the bar and spilled out into the street. During the fight, shots were fired.
The 17-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims, a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time.
This is the second fatal shooting in Akron in less than a week. On Sunday, a 25-year-old man was shot and killed by police after a traffic stop.
The recent shootings have raised concerns about the safety of Akron's residents. Mayor Dan Horrigan has called for an increase in police patrols and has urged residents to report any suspicious activity.
