BLS Releases Monthly Release Dates for Consumer Inflation Data
CPI Schedule Now Available
Release Dates for Upcoming Months
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has published a schedule of monthly release dates for the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and associated data on consumer inflation. The BLS calendar contains publication dates for most news releases scheduled to be issued by the BLS national office in upcoming months.
The CPI measures the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a market basket of goods and services. It is a widely used measure of inflation and is used by the Federal Reserve and other policymakers to make economic decisions.
The CPI is released on a monthly basis, typically around the middle of the month. The next scheduled release date is January 12, 2023. The full schedule of release dates for 2023 is available on the BLS website.
Pakistan CPI Increases in June
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Pakistan increased to 255.94 points in June 2023 from 254.78 points in May 2023. This represents a 0.46% increase over the previous month and a 12.2% increase over the same month last year.
The PBS attributed the increase in the CPI to higher prices for food, transport, and housing. The food and beverage index increased by 1.01% over the previous month, while the transport index increased by 0.87% and the housing index increased by 0.41%.
The increase in the CPI is a concern for policymakers, as it could lead to higher inflation and erode the purchasing power of consumers. The PBS is expected to continue to monitor the CPI closely and take appropriate action to address rising inflation.
