Isolation and Madness
Jack's isolation from the outside world, coupled with his history of alcoholism and child abuse, creates a perfect storm for his descent into madness. As his frustration and paranoia grow, he becomes increasingly violent towards his wife, Wendy (Shelley Duvall), and young son, Danny (Danny Lloyd). All work and no play takes its toll on Jack's sanity.
Danny, who possesses psychic abilities, senses the hotel's sinister past and the growing threat to his family. As the horrors of the Overlook manifest around them, Jack's mind unravels, leading to a terrifying climax that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
