BIXI Montréal: Users Encouraged to Relocate Bikes for Rewards
New Incentive Program Aims to Improve Bike Availability
Montreal, Canada - July 4, 2023
BIXI Montréal, the city's popular bike-sharing program, has launched a new incentive program to encourage users to relocate bikes from crowded stations to areas with higher demand. The program, which runs until the end of the summer, offers rewards to users who move bikes to designated zones.
Under the program, users will earn points for every bike they relocate to a designated zone. Points can be redeemed for free rides, discounts on memberships, or other rewards. BIXI Montréal has identified several areas in the city where bike availability is often limited, such as around transit hubs, popular tourist destinations, and residential neighborhoods.
The program aims to improve the availability of bikes for all users by encouraging riders to distribute bikes more evenly throughout the city. By participating, users can help ensure that bikes are always available when and where they are needed most.
According to a BIXI Montréal spokesperson, "This program is a great way for users to contribute to the overall success of the bike-sharing system. By relocating bikes, users can make it easier for others to find a bike when they need it. We encourage everyone to participate and earn rewards while making a positive impact on the community."
BIXI Montréal is a non-profit organization that has been providing Montrealers with an affordable and sustainable transportation option since 2009. The program operates over 7,000 bikes at more than 600 stations across the city.
